In August 2025 I found a fan abandoned at the garbage bins near my apartment. Since the AC in my house wasn't working, I decided to take it home and try to fix it. After checking and resoldering the TRIACS on the control board, I managed to get it working again.

Due to the lack of a base, I attached it (somewhat) securely to a chair using a coat hanger as metal wire. I then noticed how it seemed to be overheating, and thus I removed the fan guard, the motor shield, the basculating mechanism and everything not necessary to the functioning of the fan itself. A couple month later I found a fan in a similar state, but this time with a pedestal which I promptly took home to use with mine.

Obviously, after the summer was over, I had no use for the fan, so it sat unused in the corner of my room for the next few month, until we Noticed how the B/2 classroom in Uni was scorching hot, due to lack of both airflow and AC. It was decided something was to be done, and I chose to bring my own fan to class. Sadly it didn't run at first, and after a deep cleaning, some grinding to remove rust and a little bit of hair trimmer oil, it works now a charm.

Given the massiveness of the table used by our usual group, a second fan was needed, and once one more was found near the garbage bins, I took it home, fixed with the thermal protection fuse gotten from Giorgio's old microwave, and brought it to class.

In addition, Green decided to bring his own desk fan, and now we have a total of 3 all around the table.
